Pavlina R. Tcherneva is an associate professor of economics and director of the economics program at Bard College. Tcherneva conducts research in the fields of modern monetary theory and public policy, and has collaborated with policymakers from Argentina, Bulgaria, China, Turkey, and the United States on developing and evaluating various job-creation programs. Her current research examines the nexus between monetary and fiscal policies under sovereign currency regimes and the macroeconomic merits of alternative stabilization programs. She has also examined the role, nature, and relative effectiveness of the Federal Reserve’s alternative monetary policies and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act during the Great Recession.

Katherine Franke is the Sulzbacher Professor of Law, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Columbia University, where she also directs the Center for Gender and Sexuality Law and is the faculty director of the Public Rights/Private Conscience Project. She is a member of the Executive Committee for the Institute for Research on Women, Gender and Sexuality, and the Center for Palestine Studies.

Andy Slavitt is a senior advisor to Bipartisan Policy Center and is a member of its Future of Health Care Initiative. From 2015-2017, Slavitt served as the Acting Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In that role, he oversaw the Medicaid, Medicare, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace programs.
